About the Role

As a Compliance Officer, you will have an outstanding opportunity to be a trusted, strategic partner to the business stakeholders by providing timely, practical, and high-quality compliance advice across the entire insurance value chain. Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance iptiQ, the role will include responsibilities across all our markets:

  • participate in international Compliance framework projects improving business analysis, development and management of Compliance specific tools & processes
  • identification and monitoring of Compliance Risks, in particular financial crime, data protection and conduct risks in order to undertake ongoing risk assessments
  • improve Compliance framework and elevate existing regional frameworks to an iptiQ Global level and propose improvements to control standards, mitigation strategies, policies and processes,
  • support our regional Compliance teams in developing and the run of compliant products and propositions in close interaction with business functions
  • support in providing relevant reporting to regulatory/competent authorities and management as appropriate
  • provide advice and assistance on compliance related topics
  • develop and ensure appropriate implementation of a robust Compliance Programme, taking business model specific requirements into account, including maintenance of Compliance Risk frameworks in coordination with Group Compliance and carrying out compliance training activities
  • support development and execution of the Annual Compliance Plan
  • support the identification and promotion of innovation in Compliance solutions in the retail industry
About the Team

Join a challenging, dynamic and diverse team within the established Swiss Re Group. We are a scale-up, established to deliver innovative protection solutions sold direct to consumers through Distribution Partners. Our team takes care of all compliance matters relating to iptiQ (the retail business of Swiss Re group). This includes maintaining effective systems for the identification, management and control of compliance risks, evaluating proposed business transactions and implementing effective governance processes for our legal entities.

About You

We are looking for an experienced professional to be based in London, UK with the ability to prioritize and work in a highly dynamic and changing matrix environment. You should also be able to lead change in an international business environment and communicate in a multi-jurisdictional set-up.

  • (pre-requisite) Compliance professional with at least 5+ years' experience in the primary Life or Non-Life insurance market
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Risk, Compliance, or relevant disciplines.
  • Relevant professional qualification on AML/CFT e.g. ACAMS or data protection e.g. CIPP is preferred
  • Good knowledge of EMEA and local regulatory requirements related to AML/ITC, Data Protection, Conduct Risk (e.g., FCA Consumer Duty), Fraud Risk and Complaints Handling in respect of retail products
  • Proficient in English, any other language is considered a plus (Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Italian)
  • Ability of working both independently and as part of a team in an international setting with various stakeholders.
