Information Compliance Officer | 7970 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £27,711 to £30,060 per annum (Scale F) | County Hall
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person with a customer focused approach, excellent communication skills and analytical aptitude to join our Information Governance Service.
Working as part of the Information Governance Service, you will ensure the council responds to statutory information requests received from the public and information sharing requests received from other organisations.
These requests could be made under Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) legislation or could be Subject Access and other UK GDPR requests, as well as other requests for information that the Council receives from organisations.
You will have the opportunity to work flexibly, according to business need, as part of a collaborative and supportive team. You will also work closely with the council's various departments and external stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for the Information Governance Service.
Following training and familiarisation with local business processes, you will work increasingly autonomously, taking professional responsibility for dealing with the full process of requests, engagement with the requester, through the full process of collating the information and the consideration of any applicable exemptions, to the secure provision of information.
For all requests, this will include collating significant amounts of information and quickly, efficiently, and accurately applying any required exemptions, with reference to applicable legislation.
You will receive training, support, and guidance in applying your technical knowledge to ensure fully compliant responses.
You should be able to display excellent organisational, time-management and communication skills and an awareness of legislation such as UKGDPR and FOI and how this impacts the council.
