Investment Management Legal & Compliance Manager

Location: London

Contract Type: Permanent

Work Pattern: Full Time and Hybrid (1 day a week in London)

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced lawyer with solid investment management legal experience, having a good understanding of key agreements such as IMAs, ISDAs etc and preferably a strong understanding of investment management related regulations.

This role sits within the combined Legal & Compliance function of MS Amlin Investment Management Limited (MS AIML), reporting to the General Counsel. This is a highly visible role that will involve collaborating with colleagues across the organisation and our senior leadership team & Board.

MS AIML is the regulated investment management company of the MS Amlin brand (MSA). MSA is wholly owned by the MS&AD Group. The investment clients of MS AIML include MSA companies and others in the wider MS&AD group.

What You'll Spend Your Time Doing
  • Analysing compliance matters, key regulations and regulatory changes (relating to MiFID II, FCA rules, UCITS framework), providing timely guidance to the business to ensure compliance at all times.
  • Reviewing & revising UCITs Prospectuses, KIIDs, Trust Deeds and other fund related documentation to ensure the delivery of strategic portfolio management changes.
  • Independent drafting, review and negotiation of a wide range of investment related legal agreements such as IMAs, ISDAs, Custodian, Fee & Side Letters.
  • Coordinating and conducting in depth compliance due diligence exercises to effectively vet all new and review existing external investment managers.
  • Designing and implementing compliance monitoring practices to strengthen the firm's compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice as well as presenting reporting to committees and Boards.
  • Line Manager to two team members within the combined Legal & Compliance function and deputising for General Counsel where needed.

What We Need From You

  • At least 4 years legal and/or compliance experience in a FCA regulated investment manager.
  • Lawyer/solicitor with LLB or Graduate Diploma in Law, Legal Practice Course or SQE.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Stakeholder & client relationship management experience
  • Excellent MS Office skills
