Fractual is developing an innovative investment platform for alternative assets like real estate, private credit, and private equity, designed to elevate the success of both retail and institutional investors.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Legal and Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in providing legal counsel and regulatory compliance support, particularly in the areas of emerging technologies and EU directives. This role requires a deep understanding of blockchain technology, AI, and various EU regulations, including but not limited to PSD II, Open Banking, GDPR, and directives related to digital markets and telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice and regulatory compliance support to clients on emerging technologies such as blockchain and AI.
  • Interpret and apply major EU directives, regulations, and compliance instruments relevant to the industry, including PSD II and Open Banking, MIFIR, MiFID-I, MiFID-II, AIFM, UCITS, Capital Requirements Directive (CRD), Transparency Directive, eIDAS Regulation and GDPR.
  • Serve as a delegate to relevant committees and working groups, actively contributing to the development of standards and regulations in emerging technology sectors.
  • Support clients in implementing open banking, payment innovation, digital identity, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure clients remain compliant and competitive.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree.
  • Desired experience 3-7 years.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations such as the Greek or Cyprus Blockchain Association.
  • Proven experience advising on legal and regulatory matters related to emerging technologies, blockchain, and AI.
  • Familiarity with major EU directives and regulations, particularly in the areas of financial services, data protection, and digital markets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
