The Senior Statutory Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across all countries CloudPay operates in (AMER, EMEA, APAC)
This role requires a deep understanding of international compliance regulations, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions. The individual's expertise will play a key role in shaping and strengthening CloudPay global tax, reporting and Statutory compliance practices using external advisors and internal SME's, with a technology-design mindset.
This unique role will report to the Director, Compliance & MLRO and have a dotted line into the Group Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:
1. Global Compliance Management:
• Working alongside external advisors and internal SME's, monitor, interpret, and implement a dynamic statutory compliance framework for national and international regulations across all countries where CloudPay is established. This includes, but is not limited to, deliverables and deadlines related to:
• Taxes, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding taxes, and other local tax legislation in each jurisdiction.
• Governmental and Legal Regulatory Standards & Reporting.
• Collaborate with regional Compliance, HR, Finance, or other responsible teams to ensure the consistent application of compliance standards globally, detailing clear accountability and ownership within these teams.
• Prepare recommendations to company management on strategies required for improved statutory compliance procedures.
• Oversee the installation of 'surveillance-type' technology required for adequate monitoring of important risk areas across all locations.
2. Risk Assessment:
• Identify and assess global compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Conduct investigations to identify the root of a compliance issue to resolve it with the relevant CloudPay departments.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and implement controls to address identified risks.
• Coordinate global efforts to manage compliance-related incidents and ensure timely resolution.
• Stay vigilant and monitor new and proposed changes in standards, legislation, and regulatory notifications. Promptly update internal policies and procedures and communicate with CloudPay departments to assign ownership/accountability, ensuring the Group remains ahead of the Compliance curve.
3. Training and Development:
• Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all employees, including regional teams, understand, own and comply with statutory requirements.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to regional teams on global compliance issues.
• Stay informed of global compliance trends and best practices, integrating them into training and development programs.
4. Regulatory Liaison:
Ensure proactive communication with regulators and track CloudPay's responses to regulatory inquiries and investigations to ensure they are completed by the documented deadline.
Facilitate relationships with external legal, tax, governance advisors and compliance consultants to navigate complex regulatory environments with the responsible CloudPay department.
5. Continuous Improvement:
• Lead initiatives to improve CloudPay's global compliance framework and processes.
• Monitor global compliance trends and regulatory changes, ensuring the company remains ahead of emerging risks and requirements.
• Foster a culture of compliance and ethical business practices across CloudPay.
Description
Attributes and Experience Required:
• Extensive and senior level of experience in a statutory compliance role within a global or multi-jurisdictional capacity.
• Qualification in law, finance, business administration or a related field would be an advantage
• Proven track record of managing compliance across different regions and cultures.
• Experience in a complex, multinational organisation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global regulatory environments and statutory requirements.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them practically across multiple jurisdictions.
• Have a technology-based mindset when creating the Compliance Framework
