Compliance Officer

Buro Happold is seeking a Credit Risk Manager to take ownership of the groups Credit Risk Function. As the primary contact for the credit risk team, you will oversee all aspects to safeguard the group from potential credit losses. Externally, your role involves providing credit risk advice and monitoring the client portfolio for failure risks. Internally, you will drive the operational engine that ensures the prevention of losses. A key component of this role is conducting detailed analyses of businesses worldwide, offering expert opinions on client solvency and sanctions risk. Key duties: <ul><li> Utilising financial accounts, credit bureau data and own public domain research to evaluate the creditworthiness &amp; insolvency risk of international prospective clients - from micro company to conglomerate size. </li><li> Point of contact for Economic Sanctions compliance and due diligence. </li><li> Manage the Country Risk Watchlist and provide guidance where needed. </li><li> Manage one direct report with scope to expand the team with company growth. </li><li> Feed credit risk insights and analysis into the global business, clearly articulating risks to stakeholders at all levels of the business up to the board. </li><li> Solvency monitoring of our client portfolio and updating risk gradings. Spot potential insolvency risks ahead of time to give adequate warning to the business. </li><li> Management of the groups credit insurance policies and reviewing the adequacy of other risk mitigants available in the market. </li><li> Build awareness of and monitor the wider markets, evaluating issues that may affect BH group credit risk. </li><li> Join monthly Commercial Risk meetings with regional leaders to escalate key credit risks and monitor our top risks. </li><li> Collaborate with other departments such as Commercial and legal, bid teams and leadership groups to promote a risk aware culture. </li><li> Build relationships with stakeholders globally to increase the adoption of credit risk insights. </li><li> Management of our Credit Risk data and reporting, ensuring accuracy and keep unrated clients to a minimum. </li><li> Continuous tendering and review of external suppliers and how AI can help the function, to ensure key needs are met, with value for money achieved. </li><li> Drive more automation of Credit Risk in the UK and EU to drive collections activity via our new AR system. Your role As the Compliance and Risk Senior Analyst you will play a key part in keeping RSA safe through providing value, insight and working in partnership with the business as part of the Compliance and Risk function. Your role is critical to ensuring key risks to RSA are managed, controlled, and considered appropriately in day-to-day, and strategic decision making. You will be focused on Financial (Capital, Market) and Insurance (Underwriting, Pricing, Claims) Risk including Internal Model Validation, Stress and Scenario Testing, and thematic risk reviews. You will also be supporting on Enterprise and Operational risk, including analysis, reporting, and assurance activities. RSA is constantly changing, and the role needs to respond to that through providing external insight, assessing the key risks the organisation faces, and providing assurance that risk measurement techniques are sufficient. About you To be successful in this role you will need to have a background in statistical analysis, either through a relevant qualification (e.g. Mathematics, Actuarial Science or similar) or experience of such techniques gained in the workplace. Experience in a risk specialism (financial, insurance, operational) is preferred. Good understanding of Commercial / Specialty insurance is a differentiator. You will have good commercial acumen, analytical skill, an understanding of risk management and control in insurance, and a proven ability to manage and build relationships with Management.
