About the role This role is responsible for providing VAT advice and compliance oversight across the UK business, ensuring adherence to HMRC regulations and group finance controls. The role involves reviewing VAT returns, Partial Exemption adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliations, while supporting the wider business and training the VAT team. You'll work closely with HMRC, auditors, and internal stakeholders to identify VAT savings opportunities and drive process improvements. You will be responsible for <ul><li>Providing VAT advice which ensures that the business complies with all the relevant legislation, regulations and HMRC policy. Liaising with HMRC and the business regularly to ensure compliance obligations are met. </li><li>Ensuring the UK businesses adhere to group fianance controls and that the HMRC Guidelines for Compliance for VAT (GfC8) are met. The role will also entail working with auditors, both internal and external as well as preparing the VAT section of the SAO certificate. </li><li>Reviewing the Tesco PLC VAT group returns, Partial Exemption annual adjustments, Capital Goods Scheme adjustments before they are submitted to HMRC. </li><li>Training and supporting the TBS VAT team to ensure they are capable and competent on all VAT compliance matters and that they are able to follow the correct processes in their roles. Thsi includes working with the Global VAT Reporting Tool and developing knowledge of how the ERP system works along with the multitude of other systems which feed into VAT compliance.</li><li>Reviewing the VAT accounts for Balance Sheet purposes to ensure movements are as expected. Description Senior Compliance Officer opportunity within AXA Ireland. We're looking for an experienced Compliance professional, at least 5 years in data protection environment, ideally with some exposure to the insurance/financial industry, excellent technical knowledge of all things data protection. The Mortgage Compliance Officer will play a major role in the Compliance Management System ("CMS") and will assist with the compliance and risk management monitoring, reporting, and remediation where appropriate. Visa Compliance Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Marine Compliance Manager to join our team in Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all marine operations comply with national and international regulations, as well as ABP's internal policies and standards. The Marine Compliance Manager is responsible for the development, management, operation and continuous improvement of the SMS, training, competency and professional standards across the Wales marine department. The Marine Compliance Manager has training budget oversight for the Wales Marine Department and will ensure compliance and continuous improvements in all aspects of the marine operation with the PMSC and internal MA notices. Accountabilities <ul> <li>Conservancy - administration and authorisation of Harbour works consents / notice(s) to mariners / buoyage claim management.</li> <li>Navigational mark management in liaison with Trinity House as the General Lighthouse Authority.</li> <li>Assist in incident management and form part of the Marine response team.</li> <li>Assist the South Wales Marine management team in achieving the department's aims and objectives, including stakeholder liaison.</li> <li>Support the Divisional Port Manager, Divisional Harbour Master, and Deputy Harbour Master in reporting KPIs and team operations at the local and board levels.</li> <li>Initiating corrective actions when necessary.</li> <li>Providing safety reports on SMS performance on a periodic basis.</li> <li>Providing safety advice to Marine managers and proposing corrective actions on safety related-issues as needed.</li> <li>Ensuring that safety-related documentation and records are available and up-to-date.</li> <li>Conduct investigations as directed by the Harbour Master or Deputy</li> <li>Work closely with the Technical Authority, Marine in implementing PMSC changes and robust systems for the Marine function.</li> <li>Oversee third party contracts and licences applicable to the Marine Department.</li> <li>Monitor and keep up to date the marine licencing for south Wales dredging programme, towage providers and 3rd party operators.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements for all marine staff.</li></ul>Essentials <ul> <li>Professional knowledge of compliance and legislative functions.</li> <li>Operational management expertise and understanding of operations-critical tasks and systems.</li> <li>Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.</li> <li>Inter and intra-organisation project management experience.</li> <li>Leadership qualities and people-oriented skills such as, objectivity, fairness etc.</li> <li>Competent written and oral communication skills.</li></ul>Additional Information: When joining ABP you will find an environment that is both welcoming and challenging.
