The Director of Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring that Lendio operates responsibly, both on its own behalf and on behalf of our partners. In this role, you will help to ensure that Lendio is successfully managing its compliance obligations, oversee the vendor management, and promote a culture of compliance. You will play a key role in the development and evolution of Lendio's compliance program. We're looking for a compliance expert experienced in the fintech and banking industry to mature the company's compliance program. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will design, implement, build, and manage core elements of a robust compliance program to ensure that our business operations, products, policies, controls, and processes are maintained to the required standards. This will involve handling a wide variety of compliance related matters for existing products, launching new products, and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the company complies with its (direct and indirect) regulatory and licensing obligations. What you will own <ul><li>Create, implement, and own a roadmap for the delivery of a robust compliance program;</li><li>Create, manage, maintain, and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and processes to meet compliance requirements, and identify and respond to any new legislation that would be relevant to Lendio;</li><li>Provide clear guidance to product owners and stakeholders, helping them to understand and ensuring the controls proposed and put in place would sufficiently meet the standards expected by regulators and/or banking partners;</li><li>Conduct risk assessment to determine Lendio's compliance health, including preparing and presenting regular performance reports to management;</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for all compliance matters;</li><li>Manage key compliance program deliverables post implementation, in accordance with the nature, scale, and complexity of the requirements;</li><li>Plan and prepare internal stakeholders for any internal or external audits or regulatory inspections/examinations, and monitor the remediation of any issues/findings raised from these reports;</li><li>Develop and provide compliance training to staff, management, and the Board of Directors, as required;</li><li>Provide advice and recommendations to business teams, and participate actively in new business proposals and discussions (e.g. new products or users) with an enabling and compliant mindset;</li><li>Play a lead role in ensuring a strong culture of compliance</li></ul>What you'll need to be successful <ul><li>5+ years of experience building and managing a compliance program in (or as a service provider to) the fintech industry, preferably with banking partners;</li><li>Working knowledge of regulatory compliance practices, and a good understanding of the types of compliance matters applicable to a B2B SaaS company catering to both borrowers and lenders;</li><li>Experience managing distinct projects and programs, with particularly strong skills in stakeholder management;</li><li>Ability to understand and interpret regulations and regulatory guidance, and incorporate them into a comprehensive and appropriate compliance program; and</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on communicating effectively with various departments across the business.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Experience of working closely with fintechs, banks, or financial regulators</li><li>Familiarity with laws and regulations related to software, mobile applications, payments, credit, consumer protection, etc.</li></ul>EDUCATION Bachelor's degree required Pay Range: Benefits <ul><li>Be part of a high-performing, collaborative team, and have fun at work each day</li><li>Competitive pay</li><li>A full suite of traditional benefits</li><li>Untracked PTO (Paid Time-off)</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Company-contributed HSA</li><li>Onsite gym and standing desks</li><li>Wellness program</li><li>Discounted cellular plans</li><li>Company-contributed travel benefit</li></ul>Get to know Lendio: Lendio is the nation's leading small business financial solutions provider, with a mission to help small businesses survive and thrive.
