You will be working on projects focused within Compliance initiatives. While managing multiple tasks/projects and working with your colleagues, you will also be able to work independently on research for specific business needs. Reporting to the Director of Compliance, this position entails supporting regulatory and data initiatives, as well as any ad hoc projects within the Compliance team. You will be expected to lead and take on business analysis requirements gathering and project delivery for compliance initiatives. Aside from these tasks, you will also be responsible for interacting with the business daily and providing support activities and communication with senior management. You should also expect to participate and lead compliance-related initiatives as this role requires the individual to be comfortable with corporate compliance and ethics initiatives. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF - COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST <ul> <li>Leads, supports, and executes Compliance-related initiatives under guidance and direction of Compliance leads and teammates. </li> <li>Works with management to provide compliance-related metrics. </li> <li>Develops and surmises solutions (business and technical) based on business trends and gaps. </li> <li>Be the subject matter expert on compliance-related policies, guidance and initiatives. </li> <li>Builds and drafts presentations and key requirements documents for Compliance team and leadership. </li> <li>Prepares periodic written reports to summarize the progress of compliance initiatives for our regulators and Board of Directors. </li> <li>Maintains and prepares business requirements and project plans for key Compliance projects. </li> <li>Bridges communication between the Compliance team and internal partners. </li> <li>Processes requests from community partners for corporate donations, which includes analyzing the request to ensure that it complies with legal obligations and policies, collaboration with internal business partners, and thorough documentation. </li> <li>Excellent written and verbal skills to create and deliver training and outreach content. </li> <li>Other duties as assigned. </li> </ul>QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. The Ethics and Compliance Manager- CA is responsible for managing the implementation of City of Hope's Ethics and Compliance program for the California region of the City of Hope enterprise and provides backup to the System Director, Site Compliance in managing the site compliance program. Responsibilities include overseeing compliance activities of COH entities within the California region to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and COH policies. The incumbent serves as a resource to COH faculty and staff and provides an essential local compliance presence within their designated geographic area to ensure a consistent approach to all matters related to ethics and compliance. The incumbent will support all compliance department functions through project work from the annual compliance workplan. Actively participate in committees as assigned. The incumbent will be an active participant in all system ethics and compliance team meetings and work groups to facilitate system ethics and compliance initiatives. </li> <li> Serves as the leadership backup to the System Director, Site Compliance in overseeing the enterprise-wide site compliance program. </li> <li> Ensures compliance with all compliance and privacy related policies. The incumbent investigates reports of alleged violations of company compliance policies and Code of Conduct, whether raised through the Compliance Hotline or otherwise, implements corrective action plans, and ensures that appropriate enforcement action is taken.
