We're looking for a Finance Manager - VAT Compliance to join us in our Bradford office. This is hybrid working - 2 days in the office, 3 days remote. In this exciting role of Finance Manager - VAT Compliance, you will be responsible for a variety of VAT compliance activities performed within Liberty Shared Services (LSS) on behalf of our customers, across the Liberty Global portfolio of businesses, predominantly located in London, Denver and Amsterdam. As a Finance Manager - VAT Compliance, you will be responsible for the preparation of Virgin Media and Liberty Global VAT returns and other submissions to HMRC and will collaborate with the Senior Managers to drive system improvements and embrace the use of technology to create a best class in-house VAT Compliance function, whilst managing any future acquisition transitions to LSS. What will you be doing? <ul><li>Your overall objective and that of the Team is to provide a tax return service which helps our customers follow all applicable tax laws and regulations, file all of their tax returns on time and pay the right amount of tax, when due, in each of the territories where they do business.</li><li>As part of a wider team, you will engage with the appropriate Accounting, Tax, Commercial, Legal and Treasury teams to ensure that our goals are met and provide services that cover multiple local jurisdictions where the tax rules are complex and compliance obligations differ from territory to territory.</li><li>You will be responsible for the complete, accurate and timely preparation and submission of VAT returns together with supporting analysis for management review, across VAT accounting, which includes VAT return to GL reconciliations, journal preparation and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.</li><li>Liaising with key stakeholders you will ensure efficient and accurate reporting and regularly communicate with the wider business to ensure a thorough understanding of requirements aligned with business needs.</li><li>You will onboard new operating entities, with potential exposure to non-UK entities, which would involve scoping out the reporting requirements for the new VAT compliance tool, data gathering, UAT testing and assessing the exception testing requirements.</li><li>Other key activities will include process maintenance and continuous improvements, aligning processes to develop digital reporting requirements, VAT reporting process controls, reviewing and approval of invoices, providing technical support and tax advice to the business, detailed tax data analysis, and reporting on accuracy and compliance matters.</li></ul>We tend to look for people with: <ul><li>Professional Accountancy or Tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA etc) or part-qualified with proven VAT Compliance PQE.</li><li>Experience with VAT compliance, Ledger accounting or other tax compliance activity is an advantage.</li><li>Strong Excel and financial systems skills (eg.
