Sanctions and Financial Crime Analyst We are looking for a Sanctions and Financial Crime Analyst to assist the Manager in ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place to meet legal, regulatory and Munich Re Group requirements relating to sanctions, counter-terrorist financing, ABC, AML, fraud, the UK Criminal Finances Act and export controls Responsibilities <ul> <li>Monitor legal, regulatory and Munich Re Group updates relating to sanctions, export controls and financial crime </li> <li>Assist with the production of monthly and quarterly sanctions management Information (MI)</li> <li>Assist with the provision of advice to the business relating to sanctions, export controls and Financial Crime. </li> <li>Keep query and tracking logs up to date and ensure that all documentation is appropriately filed.</li> <li>Provide assistance relating to other Compliance matters in the absence of the Compliance Assistants</li> <li>Responsible for administrative and ad hoc tasks as and when needed to assist the Risk and Compliance Team </li> <li>Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.</li> <li>Understand all appropriate lines of escalation and the responsibilities of the Product Conduct Risk Strategy Group (PCRSG), Underwriting &amp; Claims Sub Committee (UCSC) , ExCo and Board for Conduct Risk.</li></ul>Knowledge and Skills <ul> <li>Understanding of insurance terminology and the Lloyd's market </li> <li>Expertise of the current regulatory environment </li> <li>Stakeholder engagement and an understanding of cross-collaboration between other departments within an insurance organisation </li> <li>Accurate with good attention to detail</li> <li>Good communication skills, both written and oral </li></ul>Your career with us At MRSG, you'll find the flexibility, development and support you need to excel your career combined with a competitive salary and a benefits package that promotes wellbeing and work-life balance, on top of the standard features that include a non-contributory pension, private medical care, life assurance and more! Sanctions & Financial Crime Analyst

The Opportunity Primary Objectives: <ul><li>Supporting the Firm on its financial crime regulatory obligations including the analysis and management of risk arising from the Firm's new business. As part of this, the individual will be responsible for undertaking regulatory AML processes such as client due diligence (CDD), risk assessments, monitoring and reporting.</li></ul>Key Internal Relationships: <ul><li>Director of New Business Intake, West</li><li>Head of Financial Crime, Advisory</li><li>Senior Financial Crime Manager </li><li>Senior Financial Crime Advisers</li><li>Partners, lawyers, business services members</li></ul>Key Responsibilities: Assisting the Firm in its compliance with its financial crime obligations, including: <ul><li>Undertaking AML/CDD checks and risk assessments for clients, including screening for sanctions, PEPs and other high-risk indicators.</li><li>Assisting in the management of the firm's new business workflow, including the prioritisation and delegation of new business requests.</li><li>Advising stakeholders within the firm on routine financial crime and CDD queries.</li><li>Ensuring the AML/CDD client identification checks are completed in a timely manner and liaising with the matter team where necessary to obtain additional CDD information &amp; documentation.</li><li>Carry out initial research on clients by using a variety of different research tools including analysis of structure charts and other materials to establish the true beneficial ownership of the client.</li><li>Liaising with the other New Business Intake teams to ensure a joined up and efficient process for the fee earners and PA's.</li></ul>Qualifications, skills and experience: <ul><li>Candidates should have a law degree (2:1 or above preferred) and/or qualified in KYC/Compliance or have worked in a Financial Crime environment in the regulated sector, or with a regulatory body or law enforcement for at least 18 months. </li><li>Good understanding of the financial crime regulatory landscape and a desire to develop further in this area.</li><li>Excellent research and analytical skills.</li><li>Good commercial awareness.</li><li>Ability to prioritise workload.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Ability to work autonomously and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Excellent verbal, written and face to face communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.</li></ul>Team General Counsel and Risk, London GC&amp;R Neil Gott Level 3 Working Pattern Full time Location London Contract type Permanent Contract Diversity &amp; Inclusion At Herbert Smith Freehills you will be part of a diverse, innovative culture where high performance, client focus and highly engaged people are our differentiator.
