The Laboratory Operations department offers routine testing service for the analysis of T-cells to aid in the diagnosis of, and investigation of infectious diseases using the company's own T-SPOT technology as well as innovative research techniques. The Oxford Diagnostic Laboratory (ODL) within the Laboratory Operations department provides a UKAS accredited routine diagnostic service to UK clinical services, and the Certimmune function within Laboratory Operations participates in ground-breaking research including collaboration with Pharma companies. This role involves a combination of laboratory and office work. <ul><li>Ensure the Quality Management System is adhered to by raising, performing/communicating all related procedures, such as but not limited to: Non-conformances, CAPA, Complaints</li><li>Lead the preparing and conducting of the routine diagnostic tests using T-SPOT technology, as required</li><li>Train team members on methodologies, best practice, equipment, and software, and perform competency audits.</li><li>Conduct regular lab audits, provide feedback to management, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.</li><li>Ensure compliance with local policies, legal, and regulatory requirements, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.</li><li>Co-ordinate departmental Health and Safety compliance, for example risk assessments and COSHH</li><li>Assist with the reporting of metrics to influence decision making</li><li>Ensure the laboratory service and equipment are fit-for-purpose and compliant in agreed expected performance</li><li>Perform administrative duties such as ensuring appropriate storage of paper and electronic records</li><li>Deputize for Supervisor as necessary.</li></ul>Role Requirements: <ul><li>Degree in a biomedical, scientific or medical engineering subject or equivalent qualification and/or experience.</li><li>Thorough practical knowledge and experience in laboratory techniques.</li><li>Robust problem solving and analytic skills.</li><li>High-quality judgement and decision-making skills.</li><li>Ability to organise and prioritise workloads.</li><li>Self-motivated with strong desire for self and team development.</li><li>Basic knowledge of ISO and/or GxP requirements.</li></ul>

This passionate, highly numerate underwriter will work closely with our finance and sales teams as well as external stakeholders, insurance brokers and customers alike, to maintain credit risk controls within an existing framework and provide a unique service to our customers.
