Junior Governance and Compliance Analyst Howdens Joinery are looking for a Junior Governance and Compliance Analyst to join our SAP Governance and Compliance Team. In this role you will analyse business requirements, assess potential solutions and support systems on a day-to-day basis whilst working closely with the business and other IS teams. This is a full time, permanent position working onsite 4 days per week with 1 day working from home. We are flexible on location. You can be based at our office in Raunds in Northamptonshire or our Howden office in Yorkshire. What will I be doing as a Junior Governance and Compliance Analyst? Reporting to the Governance and Compliance Lead, you will have a good all-round knowledge of IT and a basic understanding of supply chain processes to be successful in this role. As a Junior Governance and Compliance Analyst, you'll analyse business requirements, make recommendations for change and design effective solutions as well as creating functional specifications that enable developers to program solutions. A willingness to learn new processes and develop relationships with end users, key stakeholders and external partners is also important. As a Junior Governance and Compliance Analyst, you'll also need to be an excellent communicator, who is self-motivated and exhibits a proactive approach to work as you'll be managing and resolving service requests, providing business systems training and producing system documentation for current and new system processes. Following government guidelines this role will be home based for the immediate future, however this will be reviewed as and when restrictions are updated. Your mission Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Legislative Monitoring: Continuously monitor and track legislative and policy developments at both EU and national levels, ensuring timely communication of updates to relevant teams.</li><li>Regulatory Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of regulatory changes, policies, and legal frameworks impacting the renewable energy sector in the EU and UK, alongside cross-industry regulations with broad applicability, including those affecting foreign entities operating within the region.</li><li>Interpretation and Recommendations: Provide regulatory interpretation, actionable insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders on regulatory matters and their operational implications.</li><li>Strategic Compliance Development: Develop regulatory strategies to ensure compliance and support business growth across multiple European markets.</li><li>Training and Guidance: Deliver training and guidance on key regulatory changes and compliance obligations to promote understanding and adherence within internal teams.</li><li>Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to ensure company-wide alignment with regulatory requirements and promote a unified approach to compliance.</li><li>Documentation Management: Prepare, update, and maintain internal and external compliance documentation.</li></ul>Your profile Qualifications &amp; Skills: <ul><li>Educational Background: PhD in Law with a minimum of 5 years' experience in legal, regulatory, or industry research, ideally within the renewable energy sector.</li><li>Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of EU and UK regulatory frameworks, with renewable energy experience as a strong advantage.</li><li>Analytical Skills: Exceptional research and analytical skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory information and convey it as clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.</li><li>Language Proficiency: High proficiency in English as the primary working language. Communication-level proficiency in Chinese is preferred. Additional language skills, such as German or French, is considered an advantage.</li><li>Collaboration and Independence: Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.</li><li>Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for effective interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.</li></ul>Why us?
