Company Description Job Description New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) helps New Yorkers before, during, and after emergencies through preparedness, education, and response. NYCEM is responsible for coordinating citywide emergency planning and response for all types and scales of emergencies. We are staffed by more than 200 dedicated professionals with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise, including individuals assigned from other City agencies. NYCEM's Finance Office is responsible for the oversight, management, accounting, and reporting of all agency funds, as well as the procurement planning, development, implementation, and management of all agency contracts. The Finance Unit works to increase the agency's capabilities through identifying and securing grant funding, assists units in developing programs that meet the objectives of the City's investment strategies, continues sustainment of key agency programs, and ensures compliance. The Financial Recovery and Compliance Specialist will assist with overseeing agency wide assessment activities to improve the internal control environment. These non-business hours include nights, weekends, holidays, and extended week hours outside of a 9AM-5PM schedule. The Occupancy Compliance Specialist is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of affordable residential units. The Occupancy Compliance Specialist works closely with the Director of Property Management to ensure overall day-to-day Compliance operations of properties, which includes the supervision of the compliance specialist team functions and ensuring each property's compliance with all and any applicable program regulations.
