About Railsr

Railsr is a leading embedded finance experience platform that enables any business to prototype, build and scale financial products. Our vision is to make finance an amazing experience for consumers and companies globally, working alongside brands and fintechs to power innovation. This is an exciting space and Railsr had one of the first digitally-native products in the FinTech platform space.

Following a period of rapid growth, followed by consolidation, Railsr is returning to growth once again and looking to develop our product capabilities and expand our customer base. It's an exciting time and the potential for any brand to use Railsr to power and deliver their customers' financial experiences is enormous.

The Opportunity

At Railsr, we are working constantly to protect our customers and the UK financial system from exposure to fraud, money laundering, terrorism and sanctions evasion.

A significant part of this work entails the careful calibration of systems and controls to minimise impact on good, expected behaviour and instead to only flag concerning activity. This work requires both the technical ability to configure said systems to achieve the desired results, but also an understanding of what specifically you are trying to achieve, and the intended/unintended ramifications of each approach to a problem.

Due to the broad area needing to be addressed, and the constantly evolving nature of financial crime, the role will involve a lot of research by necessity. Both using in-house data sources, but also external sources available publicly or via industry groups. In addition to the above, the individuals who are working on this area will naturally find they are drawn upon to help other teams with projects, or complex problems related to their expertise in said AFC systems.

A successful candidate for this position will be working closely with our AFC Controls Manager in London, and due to the complex nature of the training and requirements to work closely with members of other teams, it will be expected that they are able to work from the London office at least 1 day per week.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Continuously improve the configuration of Fincrime/Compliance Systems and Controls working alongside the AFC Controls Manager to help protect our customers and detect financial crime
  • Plan, research, write, test and document new rules for our Fraud and AML/CTF systems.
  • Work with our AFC Controls Team on the execution of the AFC System Management Programme.
  • Support our Product and Engineering teams in understanding operational requirements of AFC systems and AFC Ops users.
  • Monitoring and reporting gaps in Fraud and AML/CTF controls to the Compliance team and AFC Controls Manager.
  • Support our AFC Ops teams in usage of our Fraud and AML/CTF systems.
  • Supporting the wider Compliance function by developing data pipelines to facilitate the collection of MI/Metrics, and also on analysis of system performance.
  • Maintain an understanding of emerging financial crime trends, and how they could impact the current Fincrime/Compliance systems maintained by Railsr.
  • Support a variety of teams with regulatory project work.
