LCH Ltd partners with market participants globally to offer clearing services for a diverse range of asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Rates. Operations sits at the heart of the organisation, providing services to internal and external customers and partners across all asset classes. The division operates across several pillars of service, including Securities Operations, Rates Operations, Onboarding Operations, Collateral Management, Client Services, and Regulatory Reporting.
Role description
We are currently seeking an experienced individual for the position of Associate Manager to join the First Line Operational Risk team supporting LCH Ltd Operations. The role holder will be expected to play a key part in further enhancing and embedding a robust Operational Risk framework in line with the Group Operational Risk Policy. This includes assisting with initiatives to identify, assess, monitor, and manage operational risk and day-to-day management of risk by designing, operating, and maintaining an effective system of internal controls.
The role will encompass a number of resilience related projects as the firm continues to align with and leverage the approach of the wider LSEG Group.

1st Line Operational Risk Capability
• Assist with the completion of semi-annual RCA processes to identify and assess operational risk in an efficient and systematic way.

1st Line Operational Risk Capability
- Represent LCH Ltd Operations in all resilience related forums and initiatives.
• Assist with the completion of semi-annual RCA processes to identify and assess operational risk in an efficient and systematic way.
- Undertake quarterly independent control assurance and establish remediation plans where deficiencies are identified.
- Assist with deep dive reviews in response to concerns, themes, management focus, triggers or external drivers.
- Assess the operational risk impacts related to change projects, ensuring the right controls to mitigate.
- Assist with tracking closure of open resilience actions, collaborating with process owners and 2nd Line to address deficiency.
- Ensure all audit and compliance issues have agreed management actions and timelines recorded and tracked.
- Collaborate with process owners to regularly review appropriate KRIs and associated thresholds.
- Assist with the production of routine Operational Risk Reporting for Senior Management and Governance Committees.
- Participate in the Incident Management process, providing support to the Business lines in ensuring the right actions are in place to avoid future re-occurrences.
- Perform re-assessment of risks and controls following any trigger events e.g. incident, KRI breach, audit issue etc.
- Review and validate Important Business Services, the associated asset and dimension mappings and impact tolerances.
- Maintain a catalogue of extreme but plausible operational risk scenarios relevant to the LCH Ltd Operations department.
- Coordinate (and/ or collaborate with other IBS) completion of extreme but plausible scenario contingency testing and monitor ongoing completion of regular tests relating to the BOE Contingency Testing.
- Identify and assess vulnerabilities including remediating action / plans / investments.
- Assist with the oversight of department Business Continuity Plans, ensuring regular reviews, updates and testing.
- Track deliverables relating to key third-party relationships relevant to the Operations function eg. CSD's, PPS and Concentration Banks.
- Assist with the support, education, and ongoing Operational Risk awareness of the wider team to build risk awareness.
- Maintain strong relationships with process owners and internal partners, including 2nd Line.
- Collaborate with other 1st line Operational Risk teams, ensuring approach consistency and best practice sharing.
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience
- Practical experience in either an FMI or financial services firm.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and a positive work attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations.
- Good judgement to provide advice, question discrepancies, escalate issues.
- Exhibits personal responsibility and accountability to maintain high standards and increase efficiency.
- Robust interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships beyond department boundaries.
- Possess complex problem-solving abilities, bringing new perspectives to existing solutions.
