We are the UK's aviation and aerospace regulator and recognised as a world leader in its field. Our activities are diverse, enabling the aviation industry to meet the highest safety standards, and we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to the constantly evolving aviation environment.

The Role

Aviation Security Compliance is part of the Civil Aviation Authority and is responsible for a wide range of compliance monitoring functions that ensure regulated aviation entities meet their legally mandated security obligations. So, we help make the UK a safer place, and this is where you come in.

We are looking to recruit a number of Aviation Security Compliance Auditors. The overall purpose of the role is to keep the public safe and secure when travelling. Your job will be to conduct observations, inspections, audits, and tests to establish whether security standards are being met, or whether rectification or enforcement action needs to be taken. You will be sharing your findings at meetings and in reports that you create.

Your working relationships will be with industry senior security managers, business managers and staff on the ground. These stakeholders are part of a wide range of organisations from across the aviation sector including airports, air carriers, cargo companies and in-flight suppliers. The role exposes Auditors to the widely varied Aviation sector, where you will be challenged to constantly develop your expertise and continue your learning, so no two days will be the same.

About You

To apply for this role, we are looking for motivated individuals who can display an ability to quickly learn complex information, build a rapport with a variety of stakeholders and demonstrate resilience in the face of challenge. You also need to have good writing skills as you will be creating accurate evidence-based reports.

  • Having a background in aviation or another regulated sector is advantageous, but not mandatory, extensive training will be provided to all successful candidates, and we welcome candidates from diverse professional backgrounds.
  • You need to have a good knowledge of implementing policies and procedures and an understanding of why it's important
  • Literate in MS office programmes
  • The role will require you to travel to different sites across the UK in line with a pre-planned schedule of work. This generates the possibility of having to stay away for work, up to 2 nights a week on average. In due course, you will also be involved in team-based Audits or Inspections which incorporate up to 4 nights away on average 5 times per year.
  • To conduct the role you will be required to have a full UK driving licence and be prepared to undertake SC Level Security Clearance.
What Can We Offer You?

We offer a competitive salary and fully comprehensive professional training so that you understand the regulations, the operational environment and to prepare you for when you are interacting with industry stakeholders. But we don't stop at initial training and commit as an organisation to support your development further in order to achieve your career goals.

We are an organisation committed to the wellbeing of its staff and ensure an appropriate work-life balance. After the 6-month training period (which needs to be full time) we can provide the opportunity to work flexibly, or part time, subject to agreement. If you are aware of any requirements at the point of application, then please let us know.
