Summary:

The compliance analyst tracks federal and state benefits-related legislation and is responsible for interpreting regulations, pending legislation and enacted laws. The analyst must synthesize the information into layman's terms for internal staff and client newsletters. The analyst responds to client questions regarding compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Research and interpret federal and state legislation affecting health and welfare plans, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Medicare, FMLA, and the ACA, etc;
  • Draft compliance whitepapers/presentations;
  • Train staff and employer groups;
  • Attend in person client and prospect meetings;
  • Read and interpret proposed and final regulations, bills in progress, enacted laws;
  • Proactively write summaries for internal staff and clients with action steps;
  • Assist clients with questions related to legislation and compliance.

Education, Training and Experience:
  • 5+ years of insurance/employee benefits experience, required.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Medicare, FMLA, and the ACA, and other Federal legislation required.
  • Payroll/Section 125 knowledge, preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, required.
  • Legal or legislative experience preferred, but not required.
Other:
  • Valid life and health Insurance license required, within 60 days of employment
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company's performance.
