CAMO Compliance Manager

Based in Luton

Purpose of the position:

  • To work in partnership with the CAMO and Compliance Departments as well as internal and external stakeholders to ensure all works and activities of the organization are monitored for compliance with the applicable regulations and any additional requirements as established by the organization, and that these activities are carried out properly under the supervision of the nominated persons.
  • To be nominated person with the responsibility for managing the compliance monitoring function as part of the management system for Wizz Air UK CAMO.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to development of the CAMO compliance monitoring audit plans.
  • Organizes and performs internal and external CAMO compliance audits, including AMO.
  • Monitors CAMO contracted and subcontracted activities.
  • Identify, record, and report any non-compliances.
  • Monitors the timely closure of any non-compliances generated by audits and inspections.
  • Ensure that the CAMO compliance monitoring program is properly implemented, maintained, and continuously reviewed and improved.
  • Verification that corrective and preventive actions are taken by the manager responsible in response to any finding of non-compliance in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide management with an independent assessment of corrective action, implementation, and completion.
  • Managing occurrences analysis/investigations and follow-up report.
  • Establishing feedback from occurrences/issues and feeding these back into the continuation training program.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and agencies, including UK CAA and AAIB;
  • Carrying out initial and on-going competency assessments for Compliance Monitoring Personnel.
  • Promoting continuous improvement of the management system;
  • Reports directly to the Senior Manager of Safety, Security and Compliance.
Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in continuing airworthiness.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an appropriate position.
  • Aviation regulation knowledge (UK CAA Part-M, Part-CAMO, Air-OPS and Part-145).
  • General understanding of aviation Safety, ICAO Annex 19 and Compliance management systems.
  • Knowledge of HF principles and maintenance methods.
  • Bachelor's/Master's engineering degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics, industrial or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components or an aircraft maintenance technician (holding AML).
  • A320 series or similar aircraft Level 3 or Level 1 Gen Fam Type Course provided by Part-147.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work to deadlines, and pay attention to details.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical thinker and observer with the ability to critically assess requirements and identify possible non-compliances.
  • Strong ability to work flexibly - managing changing and competing priorities and absorbing new information rapidly to address complex issues.
  • Able to challenge and influence others, including more senior colleagues and stakeholders, to ensure that the right outcomes are achieved.
  • Strong ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, to work collaboratively to improve the safety and compliance management system.
  • Proven ability to systematically analyze information and to objectively present non-compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Ability to build processes and procedures.
  • Ability to travel.
