As the CFO / Financial, Legal and Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing all financial and legal operations across our entities in Hong Kong and the United States. You'll work directly with the CEO to ensure compliance with international regulations, optimize our tax strategies, and manage our financial systems to support continued growth.

This role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of financial management, legal, compliance, and tax optimization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, fully remote environment, taking ownership of the financial and legal operations as if it were their own business.

Key Responsibilities / Your Opportunity

Finance and Accounting
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and cost analysis to optimize profitability.
  • Oversee monthly bookkeeping, payroll processing, and management reporting.
  • Ensure seamless submission of digital receipts, accurate accounting records, and timely payroll.
Tax Filings
  • Manage Hong Kong corporation tax filings, including profit tax computations, tax exemption applications, and preparation for audits.
  • Oversee US partnership tax returns and coordinate individual income tax filings with accountants.
  • Optimize tax strategies across entities in collaboration with external consultants.
Legal and Compliance
  • Ensure marketing and operational compliance with FTC regulations and other legal standards.
  • Oversee and update contractor agreements and contracts as needed.
  • Assist with annual Transfer Pricing Studies and ensure alignment with transfer pricing requirements.
  • Calculate and execute transfer pricing adjustments twice a year to maintain compliance and optimize taxes.
Corporate Structure Advisory
  • Advise on and implement adjustments to the corporate structure for tax optimization, particularly in response to changes in partner residency or operational needs.
Collaboration With Lawyers & External Consultants
  • Work closely with external consultants, accountants, and legal advisors to ensure alignment across all operations.
  • Attend executive team meetings to align on strategy and provide financial insights.
Fully Remote Position
  • This is a fully remote role with semi-flexible work hours.
  • Work hours are aligned with Dubai/European time zones, though some meetings may occur in the late afternoon to accommodate team members in North America.
The Pay and Benefits
• Competitive salary, depending on experience and track record.

Requirements
    • Proven experience as a CFO or similar role in a corporate environment with a strong financial background.
    • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; a master's degree is a plus.
    • Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of corporate finance and performance management principles.
    • Familiarity with legal and regulatory compliance related to corporate governance, including contract law and risk management.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, driving results while fostering a positive work culture.
    • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in financial management, compliance, or legal advisory roles.
    • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
    • Experience with accounting software (Xero), financial reporting tools
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple entities and complex operations
