What you`ll do

To give you an idea what to expect, you`ll be:

  • Build and manage effective relationships with key business stakeholders, including senior executives and external partners.
  • To deputise for the Head of Compliance where requested- we are looking for a people person to help lead the team!
  • Guide the business in identifying and managing compliance risks, including implementation of appropriate controls to address regulatory requirements.
  • Provide business-focussed advice and recommendations on all relevant areas of regulation, including approvals withing delegated authority levels.
  • Manage the implementation of Compliance policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop clear and concise internal/external communications on regulatory subjects.
  • Manage and contribute to the horizon scanning framework to keep the business fully informed on regulatory and legislative initiatives.
  • Deliver effective training on Compliance matters to the business.
  • Provide regulatory insight into change / project work, led by the first line.
  • Contribute to working practices for internal departments within the firm, including the relationships with key clients.
  • Deliver the Compliance aspects of the SMCR framework for UK PPG regulated entities.
  • Acting as a centre of excellence in all aspects of regulatory compliance, developing and providing compliance related training.
  • Support the production of reports for the internal Committees and Boards to a high standard.
Who you are

  • Good Compliance and Regulatory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK regulation, particularly in relation to FCA / PRA.
  • Working knowledge of the SMCR regime requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial crime prevention controls.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory developments and apply them to business activities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Pragmatic approach when judging the severity of potential compliance issues, mitigating actions required and the management level to which it must be escalated.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • The ability to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Organisation - able to prioritise and manage workloads, whilst delivering a high standard of service.
  • Maintaining industry and sector awareness - locating, gathering, retaining and distributing information effectively.
  • Thinking analytically - being able to understand complex technical information.
  • Displaying confidence and professionalism - demonstrating relevant levels of knowledge and understanding, and providing views and opinions backed by a comprehension of commercial situations.
  • Able to easily work from home with a quiet space and good internet connection
