Hoursofwork: 35 hours each week

SMCR Function: This is a conduct role

Purpose of role

  • To support the Head of Compliance Advisory and the wider compliance team in the ongoing management and monitoring of regulatory risk in the business
  • To liaise with managers of internal departments to identify potential risks that may damage the reputation, safety, security or financial position of Ascot Lloyd
  • To implement and oversee processes and procedures to ensure that the business is prepared to \deal with any potential regulatory issues or threats
  • To support members of the compliance team with the embedded of key compliance policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the Head of Compliance Advisory and wider compliance team to provide compliance advice on all business areas.
  • To provide compliance guidance to other members of the business regarding changes in legislation
  • To help identify and manage compliance risk within the business, including management of the conflicts of interest register and review of controls
  • To carry out financial crime and AML monitoring and training, including the investigation and escalation of AML/KYC issues, where required
  • To develop and maintain a regulatory horizon scanning tracker
  • To carry out reporting on breaches and errors, PA dealing, inducements, data protection etc
  • To sign off financial promotions in line with FCA rules and expectations and ensuring all financial promotions are clear, fair and not misleading.
  • To provide detailed Ml for reporting purposes
  • To collate and oversee information for root cause analysis meetings including breaches, complaints and provide feedback where necessary
  • To maintain the compliance diary and to assist the completion of regulatory reporting obligations and work with the Head of Compliance Advisory to ensure the information provide is accurate
  • To ensure the Standing Data of the FCA register is maintained and up to date, including working with HR to ensure the FCA Directory is maintained
  • To take on specific projects as directed, including Regulatory Change and business transformation projects
  • To support acquisitions and mergers; carrying out regulatory applications, due diligence and assisting with the implementation of acquisition integration
SM&CR Responsibilities

As an FCA regulated Company, Ascot Lloyd are required to adhere to the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR), to develop a culture where employees take personal responsibility for their own actions.

Experience / Skills Required
  • Up to date compliance and risk management knowledge and good knowledge of mature 2nd line controls, policies and procedures
  • Financial planning / wealth management experience essential
  • Experience of improving processes to ensure the company is compliant and performing effectively
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Good communicator, both written and verbal
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy
