At LifeSearch, our Compliance Advisory Officer will play a crucial role in making sure we meet our regulatory requirements and deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers. If you're a detail-oriented problem solver with a knack for simplifying complex regulations and communicating them clearly, this is the role for you!

What you'll be doing:

You'll be the go to person for providing regulatory advice across LifeSearch, guiding our teams and helping ensure we're always compliant with FCA guidelines. You'll work closely with our Deputy Head of Compliance and collaborate with colleagues to promote a strong compliance culture across the business. This means making sure all Searchers (our employees) understand their responsibilities and keep the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Interpreting and communicating FCA regulations, ensuring they're clear and digestible for everyone.
  • Responding to compliance queries, flagging non-compliance issues, and preparing reports.
  • Keeping our compliance policies up to date, and assisting with regular reviews and updates.
  • Supporting the creation and delivery of regulatory training in collaboration with the Learning and Development team.
  • Acting as a key stakeholder in projects, offering advice on governance and regulatory matters.
  • Contributing to the development of a positive compliance culture, ensuring our values and customer-first approach shine through in all we do.
What we're looking for:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a compliance or audit role within financial services (or a similar regulated environment).
  • Experience with the FCA Handbook and the ability to interpret and apply its guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills - you'll need to explain regulatory requirements clearly and influence people at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft applications.
  • A strategic thinker who can assess risks and provide balanced feedback.
  • A team player who thrives in a busy environment, with a calm and pragmatic approach to their work.
Bonus points if you've got protection knowledge or are willing to study for a protection advice qualification!
