The compliance analyst will be based in London and work in close collaboration with colleagues in Geneva, Tallinn and Singapore. The position reports to the Geneva Management.
Main Responsilibities
- Undertake the Group's counterparty registration/KYC process: conducting thorough due diligence/counterparty checks as part of the identification process, performing, and analyzing screenings and reputational searches as appropriate.
- Review of counterparty due diligence including KYC documentation and screenings to ensure their compliance with the Group Compliance standards and policies plus their accuracy and the legitimacy of the counterparty.
- Maintain Counterparty data through the full commercial relationship lifecycle and ensure static data in the system is accurate.
- Investigating low, medium, and high-risk counterparties against money-laundering, bribery, fraud, sanction, and suspicious activity.
- Undertake risk assessments on all new and existing counterparties including on PEPs and high-risk counterparties.
- Ensure assurance process is run and daily alerts are reviewed and resolved.
- Escalate as appropriate to Senior Compliance/ Global Head of ABC in Geneva.
- Maintain an effective interaction and communication with Gunvor stakeholders including trading desks and other support functions regarding the counterparty and the business where required and communicate as needed with external counterparties.
- University degree (e.g. legal, economics or other). Compliance / KYC certifications are a plus
- 2-5 years compliance/ KYC/DD experience ideally in the commodity trading
- Experience of KYC / counterparty due diligence and screening
- Experience of dealing with high-risk counterparties/jurisdictions would be a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to propose solutions to remediate compliance issues /concerns when assessing counterparties and/or reviewing daily alerts.
- Knowledge of AML-CFT/Anti-Bribery and Corruption Compliance or Sanctions would be distinct advantage;
- Proactive and a quick learner with the ability to adapt to changes with optimism - in a fast-paced environment.
- Process driven and goal oriented.
- Fluent in English, written and oral (other languages- would be advantages.)
- You are a team player willing to support others in achieving our common goals. You can also work independently pro-active and good communication skills, as well as the ability to liaise with other compliance team members working remotely (Tallinn, Singapore, and Geneva) to work and create a strong compliance network at the Group level.
- Stress tolerant candidate.
- Experience of working with remote teams/management would be a plus.
- Knowledge of common Microsoft office software
