About the department

abrdn Investments Ireland Limited (abrdn Ireland) is a MiFID investment firm located in Dublin with six branches around Europe.

About the role

As the Compliance Analyst you will get the opportunity to work with and support the Head of Compliance in providing compliance advisory services to the abrdn Ireland business and branches. You will also become involved in Group projects or support other offices in EMEA ex-UK, as may be required from time to time which will allow you to gain great exposure across abrdn.

You will support the Head of Compliance (and the wider Compliance Team) on a wide range of compliance topics such as the development, implementation, execution and monitoring of the abrdn Ireland Compliance Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Head of Compliance in managing the Company's compliance related activities.
  • Support the effective delivery of the annual Compliance Plan to include the design of the annual Monitoring & oversight Plan.
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance reports for the department, the Board and such committees as specified and the abrdn group, ensuring that Management are suitably appraised of relevant and material regulatory compliance issues.
  • Support the production and submission of Regulatory returns.
  • Assist the business with the completion of the Anti-Financial Crime Business Risk Assessment & MLRO Reports.
  • Liaise & collaborate with the first line control functions and stakeholders for the relevant 'insourced' activities.
About the candidate requirements
  • A strong track record in Compliance/Risk/Legal or similar functions
  • Experience in the Asset Management or Fund Industry or in the broader Financial Services Industry, preferably in Ireland
  • An understanding of MiFID II, AIFMD, UCITS Directive, ESG, SFDR and Anti Financial Crime legislation is preferable but not a prerequisite. Training on the job will be provided on all relevant legal and regulatory elements.
  • Good understanding of EU regulatory regime is preferable but not a prerequisite.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
