Job Description
The main function of this compliance role is to assist the day-to-day administrative and operational compliance activities relating to the onboarding of Ria agents. On occasions, the role will also include the provision of additional support within the compliance team on other compliance related tasks.
This is a demanding role, requiring attention to detail, efficiency and working towards tight deadlines.
The Compliance Analyst will meet and exceed all company and individual goals in line with the company's policies, procedures and values.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Conduct the review and verification of new agent applications including:
- KYC verification of the agent and its Responsible Persons
- Entity formation type verification, via Companies House
- Business Profile review and risk assessment
- Sanction, PEP and Adverse Media Screening
- Fit and Proper verification - including DBS checks
- HMRC and FCA registry searches
- Compliance Blacklist screening
• Liaise with internal departments to answer onboarding queries and escalations.
• Liaise with external regulators (FCA) in relation to agent application queries and follow ups.
• Review and approve agent change of circumstance requires (i.e change of contact details, change of ownership, change of legal status).
• Arrange the allocation of agent training via the Litmos platform
• Ensure suspicious activity identified during the course of the role are reported to the Compliance Officer (CO) and/or Deputy Compliance Officer (DCO) in a timely manner.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Compliance Officer.
• Proactively identify potential process and system deficiencies, suggest improvements and escalate to the CO as required.
• Proactively develop compliance related knowledge keeping up to date with the latest AML/CTF regulation and emerging risks.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
• An understanding of Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing regulations and the associated risk indicators.
• Flexibility/Initiative - ability to manage multiple agent applications and handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
• IT literate - strong understanding of Office products and ability to understand use of technology including Compliance related tools.
• Team working - ability to work within a team and to coordinate on workloads. Working across multiple business departments and with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
• Communication - good interpersonal communication (written and presentation) skills.
• Driven - a self-starter and target driven who is proactive with the ability to identify key issues and obtain appropriate information for further analysis and provide feedback to the CO/DCO where required.
