Compliance provides regulatory advice, oversees conduct and regulatory risk, and provides guidance and challenge to make sure the business identifies and manages regulatory risks, stays within its risk appetite and maintains relationships with regulators.

A vacancy has arisen for a Compliance Analyst within M&G's Risk & Compliance function, supporting M&G Life. The role holder will be a compliance business partner to the Operations function, and Corporate Risk Solutions business. This includes providing advice, guidance, review and challenge on the application and interpretation of regulatory and legislative requirements, and will include liaising with first line teams across Operations; Corporate Risk Solutions; and M&G Life's outsourced service providers.

Key responsibilities of the role
  • Provide compliance oversight and guidance to M&G Life - Operations; Corporate Risk Solutions and M&G Life's outsourced service providers.
  • The role will cover regular, business as usual activities as well as supporting regulatory change programmes and other business-led change. The role holder will support the business to interpret regulatory and legislative requirements both within change projects and day to day business activities. They will help to ensure appropriate controls are embedded enabling the business to achieve and maintain compliance, in accordance with risk appetites, management guidelines, standards and policies.
  • To provide independent oversight and challenge to the business in its approach to compliance risk identification, quantification, mitigation and management.
  • To understand and apply external business standards by sharing good industry practice and providing guidance to the business as required.
Key knowledge, skills and experience
  • Current experience and understanding of the FCA requirements for pensions and life products, and the key themes for the sector (Essential)
  • Understanding of the Pensions Regulator (tPR) and pensions legislation, experience of trust based pension schemes is desirable.
  • Experience of providing practical compliance advice and guidance to support the delivery of good outcomes, putting customers at the heart of decisions. (Essential)
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and communicate those requirements clearly to others.
  • Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise, influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Communication and report writing skills to provide clear, informed and robust recommendations (Essential)
  • Experience of working within project environments and/or supporting the development and implementation of end to end processes, focusing on delivering good customer outcomes.
  • Able to work collaboratively and to drive progress independently
  • Able to understand the detail and also the bigger picture
  • Professional qualifications desirable
