We're looking for a

Compliance Analyst, Monitoring

Based in London reporting to the Compliance Manager, Monitoring, the Compliance Analyst will use their skills, knowledge and experience to assist the Compliance Manager in the provision of timely, top-quality compliance advice to a range of business stakeholders and to the firm's governing bodies. In doing so, the capability to 'see the big picture beyond the task at hand', as well as a strong detail orientation, will be crucial to success.

This role will also support the culture of compliance and good governance for our Lloyd's Managing Agency platform.

What you will do

Assist the Compliance Manager (Monitoring) with the following:

  • Develop and continuously improve the methods for monitoring compliance (for all in-scope subject areas)
  • Prepare the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Conduct compliance monitoring in accordance with the Plan and agreed methodologies
  • Assist business stakeholders with the design of controls, where compliance monitoring identifies control weaknesses
  • Prepare compliance monitoring status reports, for submission to the quarterly Board and Committee meetings (detailing the level of compliance and control adequacy)
  • Track and report progress regarding agreed remedial actions (e.g. matters identified in compliance monitoring)
  • Conduct thematic and other reviews as required
  • Work closely with the other assurance functions to ensure a joined-up approach to oversight and reporting
  • Assist with the preparatory work in the event of regulatory inspections and information requests
What you require for the role

  • A working knowledge of relevant Lloyd's, FCA and PRA requirements
  • Relevant experience in a Managing Agent or general insurer
  • An understanding of Compliance Monitoring (purpose and practice)
  • Report writing skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to think critically, identify and analyse problems, and develop effective solutions
  • Proven track record of delivering assignments on time and to the required standard
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn and improve processes
  • Self-motivated, proactive, collaborative and helpful to colleagues; following up tasks appropriately and keeping the team up to date on activities and progress
