The role:
The Compliance Advisor will provide second-line independent oversight, partnership, and guidance regarding SoFi's Lantern, Protect, At Work products and other non-bank member services and processes. Working through our compliance framework, this role is responsible for ensuring that these areas are executed in accordance with regulatory requirements. In partnership with the Corporate Compliance Officer, the Advisor will continuously provide insight into the overall risk profile of the business and provide suggestions for improvements.

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.

The role:
The Compliance Advisor will provide second-line independent oversight, partnership, and guidance regarding SoFi's Lantern, Protect, At Work products and other non-bank member services and processes. Working through our compliance framework, this role is responsible for ensuring that these areas are executed in accordance with regulatory requirements. In partnership with the Corporate Compliance Officer, the Advisor will continuously provide insight into the overall risk profile of the business and provide suggestions for improvements.
What you'll do:
- Ensuring that policies and processes are compliant, appropriate, competitive, and consistent with Management's risk appetite and strategy.
- Assisting the Compliance Officer with risk assessments, new product and activity reviews, third party oversight, control effectiveness evaluations, and issue validations, with a keen eye on regulatory impact.
- Monitoring business activities to identify regulatory risks to which the organization is exposed and working with the business and other support functions to implement measures to prevent, eliminate, or mitigate those risks.
- Leading or participating in projects designed to address regulatory compliance requirements.
- Providing specialist knowledge to business teams on Compliance matters to ensure a culture of compliance and partnership.
- Responsible for the review of complaints to identify regulatory exceptions and process improvements.
- Ensuring that all tasks are carried out with a high degree of professionalism and ethics.
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years' experience working in compliance, audit or other governance functions within a deep working knowledge of consumer finance protection regulations, including but not limited to UDAAP, FCRA, ECOA, TILA, EFTA.
- Excellent analytical skills, sound judgment, and creative problem solving ability: detail-oriented, ability to analyze complex laws and regulations, grasp new concepts quickly, and synthesize complex information or ambiguity effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and time management skills. Ability to communicate complicated issues clearly and simply to timely present clear and actionable choices and recommendations;
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and cross-functional partners in a collaborative and respectful manner.
- High ethical standards; ability to maintain confidentiality
- Additional knowledge and experience in insurance agency, lead generation, and small business finance regulations are preferred.
