Reporting directly to our Code Compliance Officer, you won't just be maintaining standards, you'll be instrumental in evolving our compliance strategy and making a tangible impact across the entire business.

Role Overview and Team Interaction: The Compliance Manager will serve as a crucial liaison, operating cross-functionally throughout the organisation. This position involves extensive collaboration with various departments to ensure a comprehensive understanding and consistent application of pertinent legislative requirements and established business best practices. You will work within a team committed to upholding exemplary standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct. What you'll do:
The responsibilities of this role are dynamic and will adapt to prevailing business priorities. Core accountabilities include:
- Compliance Gap Analysis and Remediation: Identify deficiencies in existing business procedures and collaborate with functional teams to develop and implement necessary corrective actions to ensure full compliance.
- Training and Development: Support the design, development and delivery of comprehensive compliance training programmes for colleagues, encompassing annual refresher courses and instructor-led sessions.
- GSCOP Advisory: Ensure colleagues receive proficient support and guidance on queries pertaining to the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP).
- Investigations Management: Provide substantive support for any investigative requirements arising from internal issues or external complaints lodged by third parties, such as customers or suppliers.
- Reporting and Governance: Assist with the tracking and reporting of compliance information to the Groceries Code Adjudicator, Audit Committee, Risk and Compliance Committee, and other internal governance bodies.
- Policy and Process Management: Develop, manage and maintain company policies and operational processes to ensure they meet regulatory standards and business needs.
We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:
- Compliance Expertise: A thorough understanding and practical experience of compliance frameworks and associated key risk areas.
- GSCOP Knowledge: Familiarity with the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP) is a distinct advantage.
- Corporate Experience: Proven experience working within a corporate environment, ideally with exposure to the retail sector.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior management, possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Project Management Acumen: Experience in project management methodologies and practices.
- Initiative and Proactivity: A self-starting individual with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing compliance matters.
- Analytical and Organisational Skills: Excellent planning, organising and analytical capabilities, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
- Collaborative Aptitude: A proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
