Role Overview
The Compliance Manager, Energy & Commodities, is primarily responsible for the provision of robust, timely and pragmatic compliance advice and guidance to the Energy & Commodities broking business based in London.

This is a critical role for ensuring regulatory adherence and providing pragmatic, timely, and commercially aware compliance advice to brokers, desk heads, and senior leadership across our ICAP, Tullett Prebon, and PVM brands.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in commodity markets and the regulatory frameworks that govern them, coupled with strong stakeholder management skills. They must be comfortable interpreting complex information, making decisions under uncertainty, and delivering clear guidance to a diverse range of stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities
  • Act as the senior point of contact on the broking floor for compliance questions from the Energy & Commodities business.
  • Act as the primary compliance liaison for relevant exchanges, handling queries and regulatory requests.
  • Lead and oversee delivery of compliance projects such as thematic and desk reviews.
  • Lead investigations into suspected breaches of internal policies or regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the broader leadership of the Energy & Commodities Compliance team.
  • Provide development support and technical advice to compliance officers and associates in the Energy & Commodities Compliance team.
  • Identify upstream regulatory risks and help shape proactive compliance strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with broking staff and other internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate key compliance messages in a concise, impactful manner.
Experience / Competences

Essential
  • Proven understanding of energy and commodities markets and their global regulatory landscape.
  • Significant experience of working in compliance advisory or a similar function.
  • Solid relationship management skills.
  • Not afraid to challenge stakeholders and provide robust compliance oversight.
  • Agile and effective communication skills, including an ability to communicate technical subject matter to non-expert audiences and to flex communication and engagement style to a variety of different situations.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory information into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines across a diverse and challenging pool of work.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working in high-pressure environments with shifting priorities.
Desired
  • Understanding of global regulatory regimes (e.g., FCA, ESMA, CFTC, ICE, CME, etc.).
  • Prior experience in a brokerage, trading firm, or financial services institution would be advantageous.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and regulatory innovation.
