About The Role:

CBRE is seeking a highly motivated and effective Compliance Manager to advance our global data governance program. This role will focus on ensuring effective, optimized, and legally compliant practices in: Data retention and destruction, Data integrity and quality, and Data literacy and awareness.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong potential for professional growth and leadership in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

This instrumental role will collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts across CBRE's cybersecurity, data analytics, AI development, legal, and privacy teams to define and drive strategic objectives in data governance and AI compliance. The position reports to the Vice President, Global Data Privacy & Cybersecurity, within the Global Risk, Ethics, and Compliance department.

What You'll Do:

As Compliance Manager, Global Data Governance and AI, you will:

- Manage CBRE's Data Protection & Governance Working Group, including agenda creation, priority setting, and implementation strategy development.

- Collaborate with legal and business teams to enhance data retention and destruction policies and schedules.

- Assess and monitor compliance with CBRE's data retention and destruction schedules.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing data retention and destruction controls and drive improvements to mitigate risk and ensure legal compliance.

- Promote adoption of data governance best practices through training and education initiatives.

- Foster a culture of data responsibility and compliance by promoting data literacy and awareness across all levels of the organization.

- Champion innovation in data governance by identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions to address emerging enterprise-level data challenges.

- Support CBRE's AI compliance program, with a focus on maintaining data and AI inventories and maps to ensure compliance with applicable AI laws and regulations.

- Perform other tasks related to supporting CBRE's data governance and AI compliance programs as reasonably required.

Technical & Professional Skills

- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience in data governance, data quality management, electronic information systems, and/or compliance in a multinational organization.

- Data Governance Expertise: Deep understanding of data architectures, governance frameworks, data warehousing, data integrity, and stewardship practices.

- Analytics & Reporting: Proficiency in analytics, data visualization, and report automation using tools such as Power BI. Ability to create custom reports and connect to multiple data sources.

- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of data protection, privacy, and data governance regulatory requirements.

- Risk Evaluation: Ability to assess risks, articulate issues, build consensus, and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications:

- Certified Records Manager (ICRM)

- Electronic Records Management (ERM) Master (AIIM)

- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies such as federated learning and differential privacy.

- Global Flexibility: Willingness to work across different time zones as needed.

- Growth Mindset: Eagerness to learn and take on new responsibilities, particularly in AI governance and regulatory compliance.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Compliance Manager, Global Data Governance and AI position is $140,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Compliance Manager, Global Data Governance and AI position is $160,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
