Introducing ourselves

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Standards Team for a Compliance Officer to support our Selective and Additional (Houses in Multiple Occupation) Licensing Schemes on a fixed term and full-time basis (until 29/2/2028).

The successful applicant will carry out the effective enforcement of the Selective and Additional (Houses in Multiple Occupation) Licensing Schemes for private rented properties in areas of Sefton. The role includes the inspection of properties requiring a licence, verifying licence applications, undertaking investigations to identify unlicensed properties, and communicating with landlords, lettings agents and tenants. You will be expected to take legal enforcement action under Housing legislation in relation to housing licensing.

Job requirements

We are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with previous experience in inspecting and/or surveying premises.

The successful candidate must be flexible, motivated, have excellent communication skills and will be confident working in both a busy team environment and on their own initiative.

Interviews to be held week commencing 19th May 2025.
