Job Description
Monitors and facilitates compliance program with federal, state, and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) regulatory and governing standards, including but not limited to laws, regulations, statutes, codes, policies, and directives, as well as compliance with Tarleton rules and procedures. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
10% Monitors and documents changes within the University Compliance Calendar, the University Committee program and website, and the Conflict-of-Interest Management program. Assists with the Annual Financial Self-Assessment and performs other compliance related activities as assigned by the AVP.
30% Assists in coordinating university-wide internal (TAMUS) and/or external (Federal, State or Agency) audits, including providing information requested, coordinating responses, planning and coordinating pre-audits and follow-up audits.
10% Assists in compiling reports, maintains records and other documents, and coordinates special events. Communicates policies, procedures, standards, and methods. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations. Responds to inquiries, resolving problems or inquiries Reviews administrative practices and programs and assists in formulating policies.
10% Plans and coordinates logistical and administrative support for events, meetings or other special functions and provides on-site support.
10% Monitors compliance with federal, state, and TAMUS regulatory standards, including, but not limited to, laws, statutes, codes, policies,
procedures, rules, and directives, as well as compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
10% Drafts and manages correspondence and communications, schedules appointments, manages calendar, and coordinates travel. Prepares travel arrangements and itineraries, and may approve and process travel reimbursements. Prepares notices or agendas for meetings.
10% Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and develops a plan of action to bring any non-compliant areas into compliance.
5% Coordinates calendars, meetings, and other activities. Provides technical guidance and advice on administrative matters to agency executives, management, or staff. Coordinates and monitors action items and assignments made by the administrator
5% Any other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- In consultation with the Tarleton's University Compliance Officer, develop compliance plans, mitigation reports, quarterly reports and submitting to SECO and other offices as appropriate.
- Serves as an audit liaison: attend audit meetings, review audit responses and conduct compliance reviews prior to, during, and as post-audit activity. Follow up to ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
-Works with the Director of Risk Management & Safety and EHS to maintain effective and compliant Emergency Management Plans and Business Continuity Plans campus locations.
-Serves a backup role for the Programs for Minors CPM Liaison.
-Assists in developing, establishing, and maintaining an effective and broad-based compliance program based upon ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with all applicable laws, policies, rules, and procedures.
-Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and develops a plan of action to bring any non-compliant areas into compliance.
-Assists with developing and accessing compliance programs. Interprets departmental policies, rules, regulations, and ensures they are followed.
- Other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Four years of related experience in administration, program management, risk and compliance, or a related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to travel 5-10% of the fiscal year.
-Effective problem-solver with conflict resolution and investigative skills.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience
The target base annual salary is $47,000 may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
