We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This role is integral to mitigating compliance risks and ensuring adherence to quality programs like the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This role is integral to mitigating compliance risks and ensuring adherence to quality programs like the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
Responsibilities
What You Will Do:
- Compliance Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to ensure compliance with corporate policies and legal/regulatory standards. Prepare and present detailed reports on findings and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Policy Implementation: Assist in the development, review, and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and controls to align with current regulations and industry best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about regulatory changes affecting the organization and provide guidance to internal teams to ensure timely adjustments to policies and practices.
- Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate staff on relevant policies, regulations, and internal controls to promote a culture of compliance across the company. Auditing and Risk Management: Assist in conducting regular audits to identify potential compliance risks, including, but not limited to billing, coding, and documentation reviews. Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and improve compliance performance.
- Incident Management: Investigate compliance-related incidents, ensure thorough documentation, and work with relevant departments to address issues and prevent future occurrences.
- MIPS Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the organization's participation in the Merit-Based Payment System (MIPS), including data collection, reporting compliance with program requirements. Collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to improve performance metrics and optimize incentive payments
- OSHA Compliance: Assist with develop and delivery of OSHA-mandated training programs for employees, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. Monitoring adherence to OSHA standards, including workplace safety protocols, hazard communication, and emergency preparedness. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
What You Will Bring:
- Experience: Between 2 - 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance. CHC preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of compliance regulations, industry standards, and risk management principles. Knowledge of internal audit processes and legal frameworks is preferred
- Strong knowledge of auditing, MIPS, medical records management, and healthcare regulatory frameworks
- Experience with policy development and ongoing review against practice processes
- Experience with auditing processes for regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in EHR systems and data analysis tools.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
