SUMMARY: The Compliance Specialist uses critical thinking skills to collect and analyze outcome data related to the clinical programs at Chrysalis House; assist with monitoring compliance related to state and federal, and CARF regulations as it pertains to overall agency performance and maintains a working knowledge of the policies and procedures of the organization.
Primary components of the position include analyzing data pertaining to client outcomes and satisfaction surveys to assist the clinical team in implementing quality and performance improvement across the organization. The Compliance Specialist will also work with leadership to help address compliance/regulatory and accreditation standards, support organizational efforts to achieve accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and assist agency in maintenance and updating of Policies and Procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Degree in Social Work, Healthcare, Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, Human Services or related health field, Masters preferred.

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze, update, and modify procedures and processes to continually improve clinical and program operations in collaboration with leadership team. Provide a presentation of data outcomes on a consistent basis.
- Audit EMR for accuracy and completeness of billing information, and the completeness of clinical notes
- Manage new client orientation and ensure smooth, therapeutic and holistic onboarding process
- Develop, refine and oversee a Performance Improvement Plan that supports and guides the leadership team; and measures program quality, efficiency, effectiveness, access, satisfaction, and adherence to program, Maryland Department of Health, and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) requirements and guidelines.
- Support Chrysalis House as requested in the process of obtaining a three-year CARF accreditation. Maintain and update annually mandated business plans (Performance
- Improvement, Strategic, Risk Management, Accessibility, Performance Improvement, Cultural Competence, and Technology) for organization under CARF standards.
- Maintain organization's Policies and Procedure in collaboration with agency personnel and in compliance with Best Practices in treatment and state and nationwide standards of care. Maintain agency program manuals.
- Provide ongoing education and training of employees regarding state-mandated as well as CARF-required courses and performance improvement priorities, processes, and outcomes.
- Serve as a strategic planning, performance management, and compliance specialist who guides the adherence to State, CARF and internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare agendas for a variety of meetings and maintaining committee Meeting Minutes as requested.
- Serve as an in house-support to the CEO for a variety of special projects and initiatives, which may include strategic planning, various business plans and manuals, and application support for public grants.
- Assist in facilitating therapeutic group sessions as needed
- Other duties as assigned.

- High level knowledge of behavioral health field
- Demonstrated experience in data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and ability of manipulate data for analytic purposes to identify trends.
- Experience in Quality Improvement, Compliance and Accreditation programs preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations/requirements in behavioral health setting or ability to learn quickly on the job.
- Capability to create and modify diverse planning documents in conformance with agency requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and strong ability to work across all departments or functions of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to provide genuine warmth, empathy, honesty, sensitivity towards clients to help assist in fostering positive transformation by maintaining a supportive availability to provide additional information to candidates to promote admission to the program.
- Must demonstrate understanding of special treatment needs of women substance abusers in a residential treatment setting and show evidence of empathy, sensitivity, and maturity.
