Recruiting for a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Specialist to manage and oversee all aspects of business filings and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that the organization meets all statutory, regulatory, and filing obligations across jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate compliance requirements, particularly related to business registrations, licensing, annual reports, payroll and related filings.

Position Summary:

Manage and oversee all aspects of business filings and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that the organization meets all statutory, regulatory, and filing obligations across jurisdictions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage all required business filings, including but not limited to state registrations, annual reports, business licenses, business tax and renewals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of filings to local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Maintain a calendar of compliance deadlines and proactively coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely completion.
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies and corporate agents as necessary.
  • Review and interpret regulations to assess impact on the business and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date corporate records and filing documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate compliance risks related to filings and registrations.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and procedures for managing filings and regulatory obligations.
  • Assist in internal audits or regulatory examinations as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding filing requirements and processes.
Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:

Required:
  • Degree in Business, Legal Studies, or related field (paralegal certification a plus).
  • Experience in a compliance, paralegal, or corporate governance role with emphasis on business filings and regulatory reporting.
  • Knowledge of U.S. state-level business compliance requirements and corporate law.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with compliance software or legal entity management platforms is a plus.
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with corporate structures (LLCs, Corporations, Partnerships, etc.)
  • Experience working with multiple jurisdictions and business entities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legal and regulatory language.
Classification:

Non-Exempt, Part-time, up to 30 hours per week
