Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Contracts & Supplier Compliance Manager to interpret and recommend/revise terms and conditions for contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), policies, and other legal agreement. This leader will be responsible for overseeing lifecycle and document management, manages supplier onboarding processes, reports information to federal/state agencies, supplier food safety and compliance documentation, certificates of Insurance (COIs), and non-disclosure agreements at our corporate headquarters in Vancouver, WA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interprets terms and conditions for contracts, agreements, NDAs, and other commercially binding documents to assess risk; makes or proposes changes based on contract purpose/applicability aligned with needs of the business.
  • Owns programs/processes for document and lifecycle management for all company contracts, NDAs, insurance certificates, and other commercially binding agreements.
  • Updates/Maintains policies for COIs and ensures active insurance documents are on file for suppliers; Negotiates policy limits as needed, obtains renewals, requests updates/changes as COI documents.
  • Manages supplier onboarding process; reviews/approves supplier applications and ensures all relevant processes and documentation is completed e.g. supplier background checks, compliance documents, indemnification, insurance, and other supplemental documents.
  • Acts as Purchasing Department liaison as primary contact for customer and regulatory body audits; where required may participate in site audits, ensures supplier quality documentation is compliant and current; Maintains supplier audit documentation, proposals, maintains compliance checklists, approved vendor lists, supplier scorecards, etc.
Requirements:
  • 5 or more years' experience in writing, reviewing, editing contracts and other legal documents; Food manufacturing environment experience preferred.
  • Experience with document management systems, maintaining databases, maintaining and auditing data and/or records, auditing records, interpreting and generating reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, legal, supply chain or related field desired; or combination of education and work experience; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Advanced Skills and/or experience Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, skills assessment, background check including employment and educational verification, occasionally travel to other company locations in California, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
Compensation:

The salary range is $85,000- $95,000, based on experience and qualifications.
