The team actively handles a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputational risks.

In this role you will:
  • Oversee the development, monitoring and maintenance of IFRS 9 ECL models for HSBC's UK Retail portfolios.
  • Co-ordinate the activity for a small UK based team, providing oversight and support to a central offshore modelling team. Prioritise planned projects and tasks, whilst effectively managing and challenging requests for unplanned or ad-hoc work.
  • Deliver complex analytics as an individual contributor in addition to through other analysts. Includes the extraction, manipulation and cleansing of large datasets using SAS.
  • Draw, formulate and communicate conclusions from your own and the work of others, recommending and implementing further actions.
  • Liaise with other teams across Risk Analytics and the wider Risk team to gather insight on portfolio performance to feed into IFRS 9 modelling activity, and to communicate model outputs to stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Experience of working within a Retail Credit Risk analytics team.
  • A track record of successfully delivering analytics projects to meet business objectives.
  • Strong experience of using the SAS software package to deliver analytics. SQL knowledge would also be beneficial.
  • The ability to lead a team of risk analysts.
  • An understanding of consumer lending products, profitability and credit risk.
This role is based in Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, Chester.
