About the position

KBC Asset Management (KBC AM) and ČSOB Asset Management (ČSOB AM) are a part of KBC Group, and active in fund management and the management of portfolios of institutional and private clients. The vacancy is situated within the Operations team, you will reside in KBC AM subsidiary ČSOB AM in Prague where you will be involved in the compliance monitoring activities working together with the Operations Support, Oversight & Reporting department of KBC AM situated in Belgium.

The job offers a great variation in tasks. You will have the opportunity to work together with teams across the entire AM organisation.

In close cooperation with the KBC AM Compliance department you are responsible for monitoring of legislation and regulations in the different compliance domains, such as:
  • Anti Money Laundering (fight against money laundering and terrorist financing)
  • Financial markets: including monitoring of MiFID related topics, Market Abuse, ...
  • Ethics & Anti-fraud (internal fraud prevention and investigation, compliance with ethical codes)
  • Data Protection and Privacy
  • Investment restrictions
Your responsibilities

Concretely, we expect you to take up the following tasks:
  • Performing various operational checks on a daily/monthly basis e.g. Asset allocation, End of month investment restrictions, Ethics & Anti-Fraud controls, ...
  • Writing reports of your findings
  • Registration of compliance test reports and recommendations in the Risk-Audit and Compliance tool
  • Completing regulatory questionnaires based on inputs received from multiple departments
You will be supported in your role by means of general KBC Asset Management trainings, specialized classical trainings and on the job learning. Apart from content driven trainings, we invest in our team via team- and skill trainings.

Although the job is based in Prague, teleworking is allowed as part of improving the work-life balance.

You should have the following skills and experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with the ambition to gain specialized knowledge on different activities / processes.

  • You feel comfortable in tackling a variety of topics, you are able to see the essence of issues and you can put them in a broader context
  • You have a critical mindset and are able to dig deeper and challenge business
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • You can deliver good work under time pressure (meeting regulatory deadlines) and love to work according to high quality standards.
  • You are hands-on, take responsibility and are committed to the job
Education and experience
  • You have a Bachelor degree
  • Experience in asset management and/or compliance is an asset
  • You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and O365 tools, specifically Excel
  • Czech and English language
