Job Description:

  • Customer Services Consultant - MSD Software Compliance

    Job Profile Summary:

    This position is responsible for completing Software Compliance License reviews across a range of Broadcom's Mainframe customer base. In doing so, this position will be responsible for reviewing Broadcom contracts as well as customers' usage on the Mainframe, and providing subject-matter expertise, thought leadership, and technical specialization via a recommendation on whether or not to pursue. Development of best practices for conducting reviews and expanding framework as needed

    Knowledge:
    • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is a fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.
    Expertise:
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Experience in the software licensing/pricing arena
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    Job Complexity / Contribution:

    Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in their own area of expertise.
    • Coordinate work with third parties, vendors, or trade customers
    • Cross functional action planning with internal team members
    Supervision:
    • Work is independent and collaborative in nature.
    • Provides regular updates to manager/leadership on project/account status
    • General guidelines for new assignments
    • Usually works with minimal supervision, conferring with a manager on unusual matters. May be assisted by (and at times direct) less senior level employees.
    Experience:

    Bachelors and 5+ years of related experience or Masters degree and 3+ years of related experience

    Role Definition:

    An experienced professional with a good understanding of, or demonstrated willingness to, learn area of specialization. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Strong competence with the various tools used to accomplish the job. Usually works with minimal supervision, conferring with a supervisor on unusual matters. May be assisted by (and at times direct) less senior level employees. Requires daily decision-making capabilities and actions that may not be reviewed by superiors. Assignments are broad in nature and need ingenuity and originality to solve. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. May assist more junior staff members with aspects of their job. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. May play a role in high-level projects that have an impact on the company's future direction.

    Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
    • Develop best practices and framework for mainframe software compliance reviews
      • Ensure solid set of criteria to qualify customers for review
      • Consistent, repeatable and able to withstand legal challenges
    • Cross functional partnership and communication regarding audit customers
      • Participation in Audit Committee meetings with all software divisions
      • Understanding of the criteria for other divisions
      • Advise Mainframe Leadership on potential customers
    • Detailed review of complex contracts, including
      • interpretation of licensing entitlements
      • Formal audit provisions
    • Detailed review of SCRTs and Incorta Reports for actual product activity
      • Coordinate request with Account Team or directly with customer if there is missing or additional information required to complete the review
      • Includes manual review of non standard reporting requirements (i.e. Service Providers provide a list of LPARS by customer, need to check against reports)
    • Analyze contract entitlements to product activity
      • Level of detail dependent on contracted license model
    • Summarize results in a consistent easy to consume format
    • Provide recommendations based upon results for further action
      • Present results to MSD Leadership, including GM level
    • Communicate results to various individuals/management
