Data Protection and IT Compliance Manager

The IT department at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is responsible for data protection, information security and governance as well as our IT support contract with a third-party supplier.

We have an opportunity to join us as a Data Protection & IT Compliance Manager, this is a permanent role working 22.5 hours per week.

The purpose of the Data Protection & IT Services Support Manager is to ensure that our charity processes the personal data of patients, staff, customers, providers or any other individuals in compliance with the applicable data protection requirements.

The post holder will lead on information security and protection, providing expert knowledge, ensuring that up to date and timely information is shared with the leadership team and departmental leads to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance. The role will specifically manage Information Governance; the IT support contract; data retention compliance and meeting the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 regulations.

To be successful in this role candidates must be educated to degree level in an Information Governance or Data Protection discipline and hold a Data Protection Practitioners certificate, or have an equivalent level of experience at a Senior Level. It is also a requirement to have an excellent understanding of Information Governance within the charity sector and experience of leading the delivery of Information Governance services, along with an in-depth knowledge of General Data Protection regulations.

Due to the nature of the role it's a requirement to hold a UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

This post is subject to a Basic level DBS check.

Ideally, the postholder would work on a Monday and Friday, we are happy to discuss working days and hours at interview. After an initial training and induction period we are able to offer hybrid working, where part of the working week can be completed from home.

Starting salary of £46,148, with opportunities to progress to £52,809.

Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-rata'd for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, we may be able to negotiate on this.
