Responsibilities
The Risk Management Program (RMP) Compliance Specialist will focus on the regulatory requirements applicable to H-E-B's environmental management program, particularly those related to hazardous materials and processes.
As a RMP Compliance Specialist you will identify potential environmental risks, consider numerous factors like industry regulations, operational procedures, and internal policies; implement and maintain RMP programs, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and provide training and guidance on how to avoid or mitigate risk.

What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
- 5 - 10 years of risk management experience, in an environmental capacity
- Experience in emergency response and/or compliance roles.
- Strong understanding of the Risk Management Program (RMP) rule and related regulations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Experience with process safety management (PSM) and RMP programs.
- Experience conducting investigations of process safety incidents and performing root cause analysis.
- Certifications such as PMI-RMP Certification
- Process Hazard Analysis (PHA):
- Participate in PHAs to identify potential hazards and risks associated with processes.
- Emergency Response Planning:
- Assist in developing and coordinating emergency response plans (ERPs).
- Program Implementation & Maintenance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain RMP programs in accordance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) standard and EPA's RMP requirements.
- Training and Guidance:
- Develop and deliver training programs to improve Partner understanding of FRP, RMP, and PSM requirements and procedures.
- Auditing and Monitoring:
- Conduct and assist with internal and external compliance audits to identify areas for improvement around the RMP program. Develop procedures to promote appropriate and timely corrective action.
- Incident Investigation:
- Participate in investigations of process safety incidents, including root cause analysis.
- Management of Change (MOC):
- Assist with MOC processes to document and communicate changes to processes, procedures, or equipment that affect PSM/RMP program compliance.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of RMP activities, including training records, audit reports, and incident investigation reports.
- Compliance Reporting:
- Prepare and submit RMP reports to regulatory agencies.
- Regulatory Updates:
- Stay abreast of changes in regulations and update RMP programs accordingly.
