About the Opportunity
Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.
We are recruiting for an Environmental Specialist, who will be responsible for applying for and varying our environmental permits and ensuring compliance against our regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has environmental permitting knowledge and on a complex major infrastructure project.

As our Environmental Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include:
• Leading environmental permitting projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Preparing Environmental Permit applications for activities and discharges to water, land and air to support the different construction phases of the project.
• Producing technical and interpreting reports
• Providing expert advice and assess performance/compliance for specific site activities in collaboration with the site-based environment team

- Sound knowledge and experience of the UK environmental permitting regime and management of permit applications.
- Experience of working for the UK environmental regulators (eg EA, NRW or SEPA) (desirable).
- Ability to analyse scientific reports and investigations to permit applications for waste, water and air.
- A proven track record of monitoring and enhancing environmental compliance within relevant sectors and skilled in leading environmental audits and investigations, backed by a recognised qualification.
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent communication and influencing skills.
