The Environmental Regulatory Compliance Specialist will support environment compliance programs at IMTT, with an emphasis on water and waste media. While this position will be primarily based at the corporate office in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Environmental Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be tasked with company-wide initiatives and responsibilities at other IMTT locations.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and implementation of programs, policies, and practices to ensure the organization
- complies with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Assist with updates to compliance program documentation required for regulatory compliance, including but not
- limited to, written plans, programs, inspections, studies, investigations, and records. Key plans include Spill
- Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC), Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP),
- and Waste Management Plans.
- Assist the Company in developing a consistent approach to regulatory compliance across all locations utilizing
- industry standards and best management practices.
- Remain up to date on current, pending, and proposed regulations and developments in the bulk liquid storage
- and pipeline industries. Consult local and regional management on both current and future regulatory impacts.
- Represent the Company during regulatory audits, inquiries, and investigations. Provide support and guidance
- to operational assets to prepare them for regulatory audits and inspections as necessary.
- Participate in internal audits to evaluate the terminals' compliance with company standards, policies, and
- procedures. Provide recommendations for corrective actions, as needed, for audit findings.
- Review regulatory compliance reports and assist terminal personnel with regulatory correspondence.
- Provide permitting and regulatory applicability guidance to Engineering, Commercial, and Operations for new
- construction or modifications of existing assets. Facilitate permit applications, as applicable.
- Assist with establishing internal requirements for third-party contractors and vendors utilized for waste
- management. This would include performing periodic audits/reviews of selected vendors.
- Other duties, as required, to assist in compliance with environmental regulations and internal environmental
- company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or related field
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental compliance and/or storage terminal industries
- Experience with SPCC, SWPPP, and RCRA compliance required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be resulted-oriented
- Valid Driver's License
- TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials)
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.
- Ability to work in an office environment.
- Ability to work in an outside environment.
- Ability to make decisions in a variable environment.
- Ability to communicate with all other terminal departments.
- Ability to manage and delegate efficiently.
- Ability to respond during off work hours and work overtime as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- The large scale of the operation and the extensive layout of the facility require that the applicant have the
- ability to walk and stand on uneven terrain, to climb stairs and ladders, and traverse inclines: uphill, downhill
- or mixed. Furthermore, because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant
- must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely
- without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
