About us

UCL's central finance function is headed by our CFO and divided into four directorates - Finance Services, FP&A, Finance Business Partnering and Management Accounting. This job sits within the Finance Services directorate.

About the role

This is a newly created job which will support the development of new and existing finance policies and will establish a comprehensive financial control catalogue to form the basis of all financial policy and control work in future. The role is also responsible for supporting a programme of continuous institutional engagement on matters of finance policy and control (including the launch of a new set of financial regulations), and for establishing a mechanism for providing assurance to Council on the strength of UCL's financial control environment.

We believe it's an excellent opportunity to be part of a new function which will play an essential part in the development of UCL finance as a "centre of excellence."

About you

To do this job you'll need:
-A full accounting qualification, with some post qualification experience
-Experience of establishing effective relationships across a broad a diverse set of stakeholders
-Technical expertise in drafting policy, guidance notes and training materials
-Experience in the design and operation of effective financial controls and processes
-Experience of project management, including leading a project group and managing tasks to deadline
