What to expect

As a Financial Crime Compliance Officer working in the Financial Crime & AML Compliance team you will join us on our journey and undertake a valuable role responsible for conducting a range of activities to ensure Post Office compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements relating to all aspects of financial crime.

As a member of the Financial Crime & AML Compliance Team you will be responsible for supporting the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in discharging their duties under prevailing Money Laundering Regulations in ensuring Post Office Limited (POL) has an effective Financial Crime Prevention Framework to protect against Money Laundering, Bribery and Corruption, and Financial Crime risks. As the Financial Crime Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for managing activities relating to HMRC regulatory requirements, investigating suspicious activity and Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce (JMLIT) cases, transaction monitoring, and producing MI.

What you'll need to succeed

  • The Job holder will need to pass the National Crime Agency CTC vetting to access the JMLIT data portal.
  • Proven experience managing internal investigations
  • Sound planning and organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, including experience dealing with difficult stakeholders and managing sensitive topics with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent and well developed written and verbal communications
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills in the context of financial crime
  • Numerical ability to understand and interpret figures including analysing complex volumes of data
  • Ability to work as a team to ensure that high quality work and attention to detail is achieved.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (particularly Office 365, MS Dynamics, Power BI, Excel, Word and PowerPoint), SharePoint, plus some knowledge of Business Objects
  • Basic knowledge of Post Office systems including Credence and Horizon
  • Discretion dealing with sensitive and confidential work
