About The Role

Purpose of the role

The second line Financial Crime Risk team supports Paragon Banking Group's business areas to mitigate the risk the Banking Group is used to facilitate financial crime. You will be responsible for supporting the Financial Crime Risk Team to discharges its legal and regulatory obligations primarily through the collection, review, and dissemination of Financial Crime MI to key stakeholders within the first and second lines, and by providing additional support and assistance to Paragon's Nominated Officers and the Financial Crime Risk Assurance Team.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support the Financial Crime Risk Team in discharging their regulatory obligations.
  • Remain abreast of legislation, regulations, industry best practice and Paragon's products, lending criteria and business processes.
  • Support the DMLRO by reviewing financial crime policies, policy standards, methodologies, and department procedures.
  • Support the DMLRO in collating and reviewing financial crime MI data for the purposes of Paragon's Governance Committees, Regulatory Reporting requirements, and supporting the Nominated Officers disseminate MI through the Business Partnership Model.
  • Design and maintain all BAU spreadsheets, MI feeds, and supporting documents.
  • Complete gap analysis on regulatory developments on an ad hoc basis.
  • Complete annual EDD regarding Correspondent Banking Relationships through the assessment of Wolfsberg Questionnaires.
  • Share knowledge and promote good practice by championing continuous improvement to all areas of the business.
  • Contribute to team communication meetings sharing findings from reviews and monitoring.
  • Support all areas of FCR on an ad hoc basis.
About You

Skills

  • Demonstrate good stakeholder management and collaboration skills with external and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Have a good degree of written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills with the ability to explain risks and issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience of designing and implementing effective MI dashboards and completing trend analysis, primarily through Excel, PowerBI, or other leading platforms.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of Financial Crime Regulations and associated legislation and guidance.
  • A strong ability to use sound judgement to identify problems, determine potential solutions or opportunities for improvement.
  • Adapting to pressure and use change as an opportunity to review and implement best practice.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and critical thinking skills, including the ability to promote self-development.
Qualifications and experience

Experience of data analytics and/ or the collating and manipulation of large volumes of data.

A good understanding of risk management, preferably within the context of financial crime.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week - whilst our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch). We encourage flexible working and you will be expected to work from the office 2 days a week and the other days from home.
