Summary of Role
To ensure compliance with all domestic and international trade regulations. (Customs and Exports). This position is to contribute, create, manage and support RUK's international trade compliance programme. The Global Trade Compliance Manager (GTCM) shall investigate and test adherence to trade compliance policies and procedures through monitoring, internal assessments and audits. This role will require the ability to present and advise on RUK GT activities to prevent non-conformance to policies, and create detailed incident reports following investigations, drafting of voluntary disclosures and identifying corrective actions to avoid future occurrences of similar observations. This role reports to Head of Global Trade Compliance and will support the wider GT operational function and other functions within business to implement continuous improvements and corrective action plans that provide effective and efficient GT solutions. Travel within the UK will be required of this role. Occasional travel abroad may be required.
Main Duties
• Be the subject matter expert providing clear compliance advice on domestic and international trade compliance activity matters. Strong UK Customs, UK Export Controls and U.S. Export Controls experience are essential for this role.
• Coordinate and follow-up with other members of the Global Trade function on matters requiring corrective improvement plans.
• Support the continuous development of RSL policies, procedures, work instructions relative to Import and Export compliance, collaborating with GT Operations and the business on developing and delivering clear and effective processes.
• Make sure all regulatory required registrations, repots and returns are properly maintained and actioned.
• Review export control and licensing challenges, establishing the facts and recommending solutions that enable timely delivery and protects future business.
• Conduct regular internal assessments of RUKs trade compliance activities ensuring implementation and effectiveness of internal trade controls, administration of GT policies, procedures, work instructions and any other internal documents, product classifications, export/import licensing, customs clearing, recording keeping, self-assessments completed by the business units, and track completion of corrective measures, if any, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Review all applicable trade records to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, working with and _supporting RUK and Raytheon Company, Legal and GT Operations in investigating and resolving compliance issues and questions
• Support Parent company Controls and Monitoring systems (CAMS) assessments and testing.

Essential Skills:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of U.K. Export and Import Regulations, U.S. ITAR/EAR Regulations, UK Customs and shipping Procedures
- Experience and understanding of SPIRE, LITE, CHIEF, CDS government systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft substantive reports within strict deadlines
- Well-organised, with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally, and build relationships, networks and deliver training.
