Group Head of Legal Compliance

Wotton under Edge / Hybrid working (office based 3 days a week)

Salary in the region of £130,000 & car allowance

We are currently recruiting for a Group Head of Legal Compliance to oversee our global legal compliance, corporate governance and export functions.

You'll report directly to the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary and will work in close collaboration with global stakeholders in Trade Compliance, Export, Legal, Data Protection and ESG to ensure our corporate compliance requirements are fully understood and followed.

Person specification

As our Group Head of Legal Compliance, you'll be our champion in ensuring that Renishaw has a robust compliance programme which supports our core values of Innovation, Inspiration, Integrity and Involvement.

You will be an influential leader who can balance impeccable ethical judgement with discretion and pragmatism against a backdrop of complex international jurisdictions.

You'll also need significant leadership and interpersonal skills to influence and inform our global stakeholders at the highest level of business (both internally and externally).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on all aspects of Renishaw's global legal compliance requirements and collaborate with in-country teams to define, implement and deliver a strategy which ensures we are compliant with local, national and international regulations.
  • Develop a risk-based approach to identify, prioritise, and implement effective solutions for maintaining the group's global compliance requirements.
  • Monitor, develop and advise on Renishaw's adherence to anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, fraud, modern slavery, whistleblowing and data protection policies.
  • Lead investigations and mitigation activities around instances of non-compliance.
  • Support operational and commercial functions with day-to-day ethics and compliance queries and issues.
  • Collection and analysis of global compliance data for trend analysis, risk management and prevention activities
  • Champion and influence business culture; manage relationships with Renishaw's senior leadership team, international subsidiaries, directors and executive function.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Liaise with international regulatory bodies and represent Renishaw on all aspects of compliance related discussions and negotiations.
Key requirements
  • The successful candidate will be an accomplished legal practitioner with with extensive experience of international governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks in overseas jurisdictions, particularly the APAC region.
  • Experienced in conducting investigations within multiple jurisdictions
  • Significant domain knowledge in key compliance areas such as anti-corruption, competition & antitrust, investigations, whistleblowing, modern slavery
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing robust Data Protection measures
